The third meeting of the Recruitment Committee formed from Sri Akal Takht Sahib for the revival of the Shiromani Akali Dal was held in Sangrur today. Taking the form of a big political conference, today’s gathering was termed as the *beating heart of the Panth*.
Sardar Manpreet Singh Ayali said in his address that the flame of revolution has always been burning on the land of Sangrur. Big waves have risen on the land here, be it the movement for the independence of the country or the movement against the agricultural laws, these waves forced big governments to bow down. Sardar Ayali said that,
The Panthic gathering held on the revolutionary land that has been at the forefront of changing the system has laid the foundation for the revival of the Akali Dal today. Along with this, Sardar Ayali specifically raised the issue of character assassination of the recruitment committee members on social media. Sardar Ayali said that some people, who turned their backs on the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji and recruited against the Panthic sentiments to protect the interests of a particular individual and his politics, today they are conspiring to suppress the movement for revival by making various accusations. Some people who have run away from the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib are misleading the Akali workers. Sardar Ayali said that earlier the report containing the recommendations of the Jhunda Committee was stifled and now those who refuse to obey the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib are not stopping from conspiring. Sardar Ayali, while talking about the Panthic atrocities that took place in the general session of SGPC yesterday, said that the time has come for us to give a chance to the people dedicated to the Panth and the Guru Granth to serve, so that the sovereignty of Sri Akal Takht Sahib can be restored and our institutions can be protected. Sardar Ayali called upon the Sikh Sangat to be a voice for the people who support the Panth in the upcoming SGPC elections, there is a dire need to teach a lesson to those who are defaming the Panth.
Jathedar Gurpartap Singh Wadala, while thanking the public support received, said that from today’s gathering, it is felt and there is also hope that the people of Punjab love their mother party Shiromani Akali Dal immensely. The service that has come to their share for its strength and revival will be completed with all honesty, without any political bias.
Sardar Iqbal Singh Jhundan said that we have neither any personal interest nor personal self-interest, we are moving forward with a sense of dedication, that is why the Sangat is also giving us confidence. Sardar Jhundan said that the hour of testing for us was the Hukamnama Sahib pronounced on December 2. We would either dedicate ourselves to our Isht or to worldly politics. We as Sikhs resolved to fulfill our duty, from the first day of this resolution till today, our character is being assassinated. Sharing a personal conversation, Sardar Jhundan said that he had personally requested a big leader of the party that, you can take an affidavit from us, we have no personal interest, but you should also show a big heart to save the party, but unfortunately, today the same people are conspiring to weaken the representative class of the Panth.
Recruitment Committee Member Jathedar Santa Singh Umaidpur said that, today it is necessary to forget our differences and differences to save the Panth and the representative class of Punjab and come together. Let us become a part of the recruitment campaign that has been launched to revive the mistakes due to which the party’s graph fell during our rule. Jathedar Umaidpuri strongly said to those who defamed him by saying that he was recruiting for a different party, neither our thinking is different nor our work is different, those who hatched such conspiracies have already caused a lot of damage to the party, which is still going on at present, those who are weakening the party for their personal interests should be punished.
The five-member recruitment committee got even more strength in today’s crowded gathering when former SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal came with him.
Sardar Longowal said that today it is the responsibility of every Sikh to uphold the orders issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Sardar Longowal made it clear that a dedicated Sikh never wavers, always considers Hukamnama Sahib as a form of light for himself, so he made a special appeal to those who are rebels against Hukamnama Sahib that Akali thinking inspires us to take over from Sri Akal Takht, so let us protect Akali thinking and work for the strength of our political representative class Shiromani Akali Dal.
While thanking for today’s historic gathering, Sardar Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that the foundation for fulfilling the dream with which Sardar Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa had set out for the strength of Shiromani Akali Dal, today the foundation has also been laid from his district. Sardar Dhindsa thanked former SGPC President Gobind Singh Longowal for today’s gathering and said that his participation today has sealed that in the coming days many more leaders who sincerely want the Panth and the representative class of Punjab will become an indispensable part of this recruitment campaign.
