The centenary celebrations of the 400th birth anniversary of Mata Gujar Kaur Ji, revered by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, concluded with panthic pomp and show at Gurdwara Sri Gangsar Sahib Kartarpur. During the main centenary celebrations organized by the Shiromani Committee, prominent Panthic personalities including Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, President of Shiromani Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Dal Panth Baba Bidhi Chand Chief Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, Tarna Dal Baba Bakala Chief Baba Joga Singh, Padma Shri Baba Sewa Singh Khadoor Sahib participated and inspired the Sikh world to adopt an ideal way of life in the light of Mata Gujar Kaur Ji’s life and sacrifice. The speakers especially emphasized the need for Sikh mothers to take inspiration from the unique life of Mata Gujar Kaur Ji and educate their children both spiritually and materially.
Addressing the event, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Mata Gujar Kaur Ji was a great personality who enhanced the personality of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and made the younger Sahibzades determined to sacrifice themselves while remaining true to their faith at an early age. He said that today the world talks about secularism and democracy, but Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the son of Mata Gujar Ji, created the Khalsa in 1699 and brought about a unique revolution in the world, in which human equality, brotherhood and democracy were expressed. Advocate Dhami said that today there is a great need for the Sikh community to set priorities according to the life ideals of Mata Gujar Kaur Ji. He also strongly criticized the anti-Sikh phenomenon on social media and said that conspiracies are being hatched by the anti-Panthists to mix up the distinct identity of the Sikh community by misusing social media. He asked the community to be aware of such attacks.
Meanwhile, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh said that Mata Gujar Kaur was a great source of patience, honesty, tolerance and a big heart, from whose womb the Sarbansdani Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born. He said that this ideal personality should become a source of inspiration for every mother. Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh also called for unity for the strength of the Panth. He said that it is necessary to be aware of conspiracies to weaken the Panth religiously and politically. Talking about Sri Akal Takht Sahib, he said that it is not a building, but a principle. The building can be demolished, but the principles and concepts cannot be erased. He said that this is why the enemies always try to weaken Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Abdali and Indira also remained in this delusion. He asked the nation to “guard” the principles of their institutions.
On this occasion, Singh Sahib Giani Parvinderpal Singh, Dal Panth Baba Bidhi Chand Chief Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, Baba Sewa Singh Khadoor Sahib, Baba Teja Singh Khuda Kurala, Shiromani Committee Member S. Ranjit Singh Kahlon and Giani Bhagwan Singh Johal also shared their views with the congregation. During the event, the book of poet Giani Gurmukh M.A. was also released and the prominent personalities present were honored by Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. Especially, prominent women who contributed in the field of social service were also honored. Earlier, the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was performed and the renowned Raagi Dhadi and Kavishar Jathas of the Panth engaged the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan and Guru-Itihas.
