In preparation for the Ludhiana West by-election, the first randomization of 66 micro-observers was completed at the District Administrative Complex on Thursday, overseen by General Observer Rajeev Kumar, IAS and District Election Officer Himanshu Jain
In these elections, a total of 66 micro-observers would perform their duties. Besides, 100 per cent of personnel have been kept in reserve. To minutely observe the proceedings at every polling location and ensuring peaceful and transparent polls, as many as 66 micro-observers will be deputed for the polling day in the district.
Terming the micro-observers as ears and eyes of the Election Commission of India (ECI), General Observer Rajeev Kumar, IAS, and District Election Officer Himanshu Jain said that micro-observers have a huge role to play for peaceful by-election process in the district. They said that micro observers would keep close vigil on the overall election process assigned to them on June 19. They said that the Micro Observers would have to get the mock poll done before the actual polling starts at 7 am on June 19 as a gear up exercise for the polling staff, besides ensuring that election work has been carried out in a transparent manner and there is no violation of any kind.
