In the US state of Alabama, 49-year-old Kerry Dale Grayson will be put to death by nitrogen gas anytime within the next 48 hours, following a death sentence for his role in the brutal 1994 murder of a woman. He was 19 years old at the time of the crime. He will be the third person to be put to death by nitrogen gas. According to court records, on February 21, 1994, 37-year-old Vicki Lynn DeBleaux was dropped off by a friend near Interstate 59 in Chattanooga. She was waiting for a ride from southeast Tennessee to West Monroe, Louisiana, to visit her mother when Grayson and three others put DeBleaux in their car and later took her to the woods and brutally murdered her. She was beaten. She was strangled. According to court records, part of his lung was removed and his fingers were amputated. After being killed, his body was thrown onto a hill.
