As part of the war against drugs campaign launched by the Punjab government, MLA Jiwan Singh Sangowal from the assembly constituency Gill held a meeting with the residents of villages at Thakkarwal, Dad, Lalton Kalan and sought their cooperation to eradicate this scourge.
MLA Sangowal said in his address that this campaign will prove to be a decisive battle against the scourge of drugs in Punjab. To spread awareness against drugs, a people’s movement is being created by taking the Nasha Mukti Yatra to every village and ward, so that Punjab can be made a colorful Punjab again.
He said that there is no place in Punjab for drug smugglers who are destroying the youth of Punjab and the state government led by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann has already broken the supply line of drugs and the big fish involved in this heinous crime have been put behind bars.
MLA Jiwan Singh Sangowal said that the state government has issued a WhatsApp helpline number 97791-00200 to seek the cooperation of the people in this war. He appealed to the residents of various villages that if any suspicious activities are known in their respective areas, then the information can be shared on this WhatsApp number and the identity of the person calling will be kept confidential.
