Ludhiana(Ankur Jaiswal & Tejveer Singh):-Senior Punjab BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal (Ludhiana) has expressed deep concern over the whole matter. In his tweet, he questioned Sunil Jakhar’s decision and called it a betrayal of the party. Grewal said, “Whenever there is a war, army generals do not run away. The Bharatiya Janata Party gave you an honorable position in Punjab, but instead of fulfilling this responsibility, you probably tried to help others in a secret way.” Senior leader Grewal also said that if Sunil Jakhar had decided to resign earlier, the party would have had time to appoint a capable leader as the state president. But Jakhar’s sudden resignation has affected the party’s strategies. Senior BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal alleged that Jakhar had broken the trust of senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda. “If you had cleared everything earlier, the party would have appointed a capable leader as the state president by now and the party would have been moving towards its goal. But you have betrayed not only the senior leaders of the party but every party worker,” Grewal said.
Sunil Jakhar’s resignation could prove to
be a major political crisis for the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was like a betrayal for the party leaders and workers, and it has raised many questions about the political direction and future of the BJP. Jakhar’s decision has given the BJP an opportunity to rethink its strategies before the by-elections, so that a new leadership can be prepared to rescue the party from this crisis.
This development has affected the position of the BJP in Punjab and in the future the party may have to take tough decisions to win back the trust of its workers and supporters.
