Jagraon (Tejveer Singh):- In village Akalgarh Kalan, angry with the woman for not giving money to her son for drugs, the young man set his house on fire. Not only this, the drug addict youth also attempted suicide. As soon as the fire was set in the house, the local people reached the spot and with great difficulty took the young man out of the house and controlled the fire. Due to the fire, fridge, AC, LED and other valuable items were burnt to ashes. The incident happened late on Tuesday night. It is said that Dhamender, a resident of the village, had asked his mother Rajwant Kaur for Rs 1300 to buy drugs. When the mother refused, the young man got angry and set the house on fire. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Sudhar police station in-charge Jaswinder Singh, SI Karamjit Singh and Seva Singh reached the spot with the police party.
People were not allowed to enter the house
The police tried to take out the mother of the young man, Rajwant Kaur, who was trapped inside the house, but the accused was not allowing people to enter the house. After this, the fire department and police were informed about the incident. Several fire department vehicles reached the spot and after a lot of hard work, the fire was controlled, but by then all the household items had been burnt.
Attacked with bricks and stones
The accused youth sat inside the house with bricks and stones. As soon as the police and local people reached to extinguish the fire, the accused pelted stones at them. Fearing arrest, the accused was threatening the police of self-immolation. The police, along with the local people, took the accused into custody with great difficulty.
