US President Donald Trump has said in the past that if Israel starts a war in Gaza again, he will support it. Trump said that whether Israel wants to move forward with the second phase of the Gaza hostage deal or start the war again, the US will support it in both situations. Donald Trump’s statement has caught the world’s attention because he has recently shown a consistent anti-war stance. His role in implementing the ceasefire in Gaza was also considered important. However, after his statement, there are fears that the war in Gaza may start again.
According to a report by the Times of Israel, in an interview with Fox News, Trump was asked whether he should extend the ceasefire in Gaza to try to bring back the hostages or start the war again. To this, Trump said, ‘I am with Israel.’ When you see what is happening outside. A group of hostages arrived in such bad condition, it was as if they had come from a concentration camp in Germany. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions. Whatever decision Israel makes, we will support it.
Netanyahu’s anger is justified: Trump
When asked about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said that he is very angry, especially what happened to the children in the past, which has made Israel very angry. Referring to the death of children Ariel and Kiefer Bibas, Trump said that it was cruelty and barbarity. You cannot even imagine that this would happen in the modern era, but it has happened. In such a situation, Netanyahu’s feelings should also be understood.
Hamas decides to leave Gaza, announces handing it over to the Palestinian Authority It is clear from Trump’s statement that he will support Israel’s decision. Whether Israel continues to return the hostages through negotiations or attacks Gaza again and starts a war with Hamas. This also shows America’s strong support for Israel. America has continuously supported Israel.
The US-Israeli alliance’s conspiracy to completely displace the Palestinians
It is worth mentioning that during this period, Israeli forces directly killed thousands of Palestinians with the open support of America and other Western imperialist countries. This figure is likely to be close to 70,000 to 200,000. 90% of the buildings in Gaza have either been completely destroyed or have been very badly damaged. Almost all hospitals, educational institutions, drinking water sources and infrastructure, more than a third of the arable land have been destroyed. Trump had said in an interview given to a media channel that in the past few years, an entire civilization has been destroyed in Gaza. A few days ago, Trump announced a plan to permanently displace the entire population of Gaza and build luxurious hotels and other things there. Trump has said that Palestinians will be settled in temporary camps in Arab countries like Egypt and Jordan. Moreover, the US itself will directly occupy Gaza. Although this statement was opposed by all the Arab countries, including America’s Western allies, Netanyahu was very happy with this statement and the Israeli Defense Minister has even started preparations to implement this plan. Israel is also repeatedly violating the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, due to which Hamas has now temporarily stopped the process of releasing the hostages being carried out in the first phase of the ceasefire.
Despite two years of terrible genocide, Israel has failed miserably in crushing Hamas and the Palestinian resistance. After failing to crush the Palestinian fighters, Israel, with the full support of the imperialist US and other Western countries, began the process of completely depopulating Gaza by committing genocide against the entire population of Gaza. Meanwhile, it also tried to invade Lebanon and occupy some areas so that it could eliminate Hezbollah and expand the settlements of its “settler colonists” in the West Bank, but in this too it had to face defeat. In Israel, those whose families were held hostage by Hamas started protests against the Netanyahu government. Israel also suffered huge military losses during this war. A large number of officers and young soldiers were killed.
Israel is not implementing the agreement
This agreement was to be implemented in three phases. The first phase focuses on a prisoner exchange, in which 33 Israelis will be released in exchange for approximately 1,700 Palestinians. Those released include more than 1,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons without charge or trial since October 7, 2023. The second phase will see the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the release of all remaining Israeli hostages. If the agreement reaches the third and final phase, which is currently unlikely, a plan will be implemented to return the bodies of any Israeli hostages who have been killed and to rebuild homes and other infrastructure in Gaza that have been destroyed. It is worth mentioning here that Israel has already started violating the terms of the agreement in the first phase, after which Hamas has for the time being blocked the release of Israeli hostages. Israel has so far allowed only 8,500 trucks of food and other basic necessities into Gaza, while the ceasefire
According to the terms of the agreement, there should have been 12,000 trucks. In addition, the designated shelter tents are only 10% of the required number.
In addition, 50 seriously ill or injured people in Gaza were to be allowed to leave daily with their family members, and so far this number should have been 1,000, but according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, only 120 patients have been allowed to leave so far. Allowing people to return to their homes in northern Gaza was also part of the agreement, which Israel has not yet implemented. Israel is still carrying out massacres in Gaza and the West Bank. In the past few days alone, Israeli police, army and far-right mobs have killed more than 25 people.
Hamas ready for struggle
The real question here is whether the Palestinians, who have been courageously resisting Israel’s oppression and massacre for more than 75 years, will simply accept Trump’s plan? It seems highly unlikely. Peace in the region is impossible without the establishment of an independent national state for the Palestinian people. Despite launching a massive military offensive in Gaza, Israel failed to achieve its main war objectives, which were the elimination of Hamas and the return of the hostages. Hamas still has the potential to inflict significant damage on Israel. The families of Palestinians whose families have been killed in the horrific genocide of the past two years are rapidly organizing against Israel. Israel has also suffered economic losses in this war. More than $55.6 billion has been spent on this war so far. The biggest loss to Israel is that its global reputation is at an all-time low. The Palestinian people are devastated by the devastation of the last two years of terrible war, but they still have a longing for their independent national state and will fight for it against all forms of deceit and tyrannical conspiracy.
