Indian American Bert Thakur has won the election to the Frisco City Council, Texas. He defeated his opponent Tammy Meinerschgan. He is the first Indian to be elected to the Frisco Council. He shared his victory on social media. The 42-year-old Thakur is an engineer and a former soldier. Thakur’s victory is also significant because the population of citizens of Indian origin in the city is only 15%. Thakur said that his victory was possible due to an effective election campaign. He said that we knocked on the door of every house and put our program in front of the people. Congressman Brenton Gill also played a significant role in the victory of Conservative leader Thakur. Gill had openly supported Thakur on social media.
