An encounter took place between the police and criminals near Sohal Jagir in Shahkot, Jalandhar. One accused was injured in the encounter. The police have arrested two accused. Angrez Singh son of Karnail Singh, resident of village Marihana, police station Chola Sahib, district Tarn Taran, and Karanvir son of Naib, resident of village Marihana, police station Chola Sahib, district Tarn Taran. A .30 bore pistol, one cartridge, one empty cartridge box and a Splendor motorcycle were recovered from the accused.
Giving information about the case, Harvinder Singh Virk said that on January 11, 2026, a shooting incident took place at the house of Sukhchain Singh son of Lal Singh, resident of village Sohal Jagir. An FIR was registered at police station Shahkot under section 109 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25/27-54-59 of the Arms Act. After this, police teams were formed.
