This is the reason why Congress has not been able to repeat its victory in any state for the last 11 years. On the contrary, BJP is coming to power for the second or third consecutive time in most of the states. This story of Congress is being repeated in Telangana as well. It has been one and a half years since its government was formed there and from now on, such signs are starting to appear that its path is going to be difficult in the upcoming elections. This is the situation when there is no grouping of very strong leaders there like in Karnataka or Himachal Pradesh. Some time ago, elections were held for three seats of the Legislative Council in Telangana. Two of these seats were from the teachers’ constituency and one seat was from the graduates’ constituency. Congress lost on all three seats. What is more worrying for Congress is that candidates supported by BJP won on two seats. It has been only one and a half years since the government was formed and this is the situation. It is being said that for this reason, by-elections are not being held by getting the resignations of 9 MLAs who left Bharat Rashtra Samiti. The Speaker has kept his case pending. The Supreme Court had also expressed displeasure on this issue recently.
