The Chairman of the State Scheduled Castes Commission, S. Jasvir Singh Garhi, attended the function dedicated to the 627th Prakash Diwas of Bhagat Kabir Ji at Sri Guru Ravidas Mandir, Jodhewal Basti.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest of the function, Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi, invited the gathering to follow the path shown by Bhagat Kabir Ji. He said that the blessed Satguru Kabir Maharaj was a great social reformer and he gave the message of truth, love, non-violence, morality and brotherhood to the entire humanity, which has special importance in the current materialistic era.
Apart from the large number of devotees who joined the function, Dr. Jaspreet Singh Bija, Ramanjit Singh Lali, President of Sri Guru Ravidas Mandir Prabandhak Sabha, Basti Jodhewal, Jinderpal Daroch, Narinder Rai Bittu, Dr. Ramjit Sood, Rajinder Mulniwasi, Ramesh Rasila, Sukha Ram Lakha, Jasbir Ladhar, Lekh Raj Sood were also present.
Chairman Garhi gave a message of common partnership and said that Guru Ravidas Ji and Bhagat Kabir Ji were born in the same city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and it is the need of the hour to connect the people who came from there to earn their livelihood. He said that tireless efforts should be made to deliver Bhagat Kabir Ji’s message of universal brotherhood from door to door.
He said that Bhagat Kabir Ji’s Bani recorded in Sri Guru Granth Sahib will always guide the people which gives a message to rise above caste, race and religion. He said that Kabir Sahib’s Bani gives us a message of pure ideology from which we can make our lives successful by taking lessons. He said that Bhagat Kabir Ji fought a long struggle for the elimination of social evils, caste system, untouchability and discrimination in the society.
He clarified that with the immense grace of Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, I am fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to me by the Punjab Government with hard work, honesty and dedication. He said that as the Chairman of the Scheduled Castes Commission, no one will be allowed to be treated unfairly and appropriate action will be taken against the culprits.
Chairman Garhi said that those nations always move forward and progress, which always remember their Gurus and Pirs and follow their footsteps. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in the state is taking special efforts to uplift the living standards of the socially and economically backward people of the state to realize the dreams of Bhagat Kabir Ji.
