Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Monday led an anti-drug campaign under the Nasha Mukti Yatra initiative in villages Mangli Nichi, Mangli Uchi and Gobindgarh. In which people were brought together to unite against drug abuse. As part of the Punjab government’s war on drugs campaign, the minister made the communities aware about the dangers of drugs and the importance of collective action to make Punjab drug-free.
Speaking to a large gathering of people, Mundian described the Nasha Mukti Yatra as a grassroots revolution by the Punjab government to eradicate drugs. He also made the youth, women, panches and sarpanches pledge to stay away from drugs and report traffickers to the authorities. He further said that in the 2022 elections, our party has promised the people that they will eradicate drugs from Punjab and now it is time that action is being taken against the war on drugs. The minister also stressed on the need for strong cooperation between the people, district administration and police. The boys highlighted Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of empowering the youth through sports facilities including stadiums in every village. They added that the government has already provided more than 56000 government jobs to the youth.
Holding the previous governments responsible for increasing the drug menace, the boys lauded the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) war on drugs campaign to restore Punjab’s pride.
