Punjabi language teachers running Punjabi language teaching centers under the Pod Shiksha Kendra scheme have written a letter to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Pal Vinay Saxena, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Sikh Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Art, Culture and Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra demanding that the centers and language departments of the Singh Sabha Gurdwara, which have been running for the last 27 years for teaching Punjabi language in various areas of Delhi, which were closed by the Aam Aadmi Party government in August 2024 due to the lack of a governing body to run the Punjabi Academy, are being closed, due to which those who want to learn Punjabi language are facing a lot of difficulties and the centers teaching Punjabi language should be restarted soon. The teachers working under the Punjabi Academy said that they have also sought time to meet Sikh Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa regarding this matter and have demanded that the governing body of the Punjabi Academy running the Punjabi Academy be formed as soon as possible so that the centers teaching Punjabi language in various Gurdwaras can be started again. The teachers demand that Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is the Sikh Minister, should immediately solve this problem so that the Punjabi language can be propagated as before.
