After the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan in 1945, the world is once again facing the crisis of nuclear bombs. In the past few days, there has been a war-like atmosphere between India and Pakistan and both countries have carried out drone and missile attacks on each other. Meanwhile, Pakistan has also threatened to use its nuclear weapons against India. On the other hand, India also has nuclear weapons. Due to which the conflict that started between India and Pakistan was likely to turn into a nuclear war, but fortunately a ceasefire was signed between the two countries. Due to which the threat of nuclear war was averted from the world for once, but the great threat of nuclear war continues to exist in the whole world because the war between Russia and Ukraine is still ongoing and Russia is a nuclear-armed country, while the European countries supporting Ukraine also have nuclear weapons. Therefore, it is being speculated that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine can turn into a nuclear war at any time.
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, India has 180 nuclear weapons and Pakistan has about 170 nuclear weapons. These weapons can wreak havoc not only in both countries but in a large part of the world. According to a report, as of January 2024, there were 12,121 nuclear weapons worldwide. Of these, 9,585 were kept in military reserve, of which 3,904 were actively deployed. This is 60 times more than in the year 2023. Thus, a new nuclear arms race has begun in the world. Now if a nuclear war occurs anywhere, there will be neither a winner nor a loser. Not only will the countries using nuclear bombs be destroyed, but there will also be massive destruction in neighboring countries. A nuclear war will be a war of destruction for humanity. At present, 9 countries in the world have sixteen thousand three hundred nuclear and hydrogen bombs, which have the capacity to destroy the entire world many times over. Although efforts have always been made to protect the earth from the use of nuclear bombs, these days the threat of these bombs exploding is looming again. If there is a war between two countries anywhere, nuclear bombs can be used. The destruction that will be caused by this cannot be imagined.
Russia is at the forefront of the nuclear bomb race. It developed the technology to make nuclear bombs in 1949. Russia currently has eight thousand nuclear bombs ready, which it has kept safely in different places. Apart from this, no one knows how many small bombs are present in its stockpile. Whereas America had developed the capability to develop nuclear bombs four years before Russia, i.e. in 1945 itself. It has seven hundred to three hundred nuclear bombs stored in its arsenal. China is at number three. It has only two and a half hundred nuclear bombs. China acquired this technology in 1964.
The most dangerous thing is that while on one hand there is a large stockpile of these big bombs in the world, on the other hand, a new process of making small-scale nuclear bombs has started on the initiative of defense scientists. The big countries of the world have been hiding this fact till now. But now the truth has come out that some countries already have a large number of small nuclear bombs which can cause huge destruction in a small area. Apart from nuclear bombs, chemical and bacterial bombs have also become the cause of a war of supremacy. North Korea and Pakistan have become such countries which can pose a threat to world peace at any time.
Finally, it can be said that the world, which has faced two world wars, is facing the threat of a third world war, which will be a nuclear war. Nuclear bombs made by man can cause the destruction of man himself at any time. What is needed is that the race of nuclear weapons should be ended in the world and major efforts should be made for world peace. Different countries should focus more on resolving their issues through dialogue rather than war.
