The 39th Martyrdom Day of the martyrs of Saka Nakodar, Bhai Ravinder Singh Ji, Bhai Jhilman Singh Ji, Bhai Baldhir Singh Ji and Bhai Harminder Singh Ji, was celebrated with devotion and respect at Gurdwara Sahib Fremont like every year, in which a large number of people from the Bay Area participated and paid homage to the martyrs. On this occasion, Bhai Ravinder Singh Ji’s younger brother Dr. Harinder Singh spoke about the lives of the martyrs, the Saka and how we can learn from these martyrs and make our lives successful. On this occasion, the Sikh community thanked American Congressman Jimmy Panetta for paying tribute to the martyrs of Saka Nakodar on February 6, 2025 in the US Congress House and for seriously raising the issue of the injustice of Saka Nakodar and the killing of innocent unarmed Sikhs by the police in the US House of Representatives. It is worth mentioning that earlier, in 2021, the American Congress had paid tribute to the martyrs of Saka Nankana Sahib in the US Congress House. The Sangat also thanked California Assembly Member Dr. Jasmeet Kaur Bains, who, fulfilling the promise made to the Sangat and martyr families at Gurdwara Sahib Fremont on the 38th martyrdom day of Saka Nakodar, got Resolution No. 93 unanimously passed in the California State Assembly on June 13, 2024, to celebrate February 4 every year as Saka Nakodar Day in the state of California. Earlier, Dr. Bains had also passed the 1984 Sikh Genocide resolution in the California State Assembly.
The 39th Martyrdom Day of the martyrs of Saka Nakodar will be celebrated on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Gurdwara Sahib San Jose, and on February 18, 2025, the Mayor and City Council of San Jose will issue a proclamation to celebrate February 4, 2025 as Saka Nakodar Day.
The Langar Hall of Gurdwara Sahib Ji has been decorated with the portraits of seven martyred Singhs, Shaheed Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma, Shaheed Bhai Jugraj Singh, Bhai Gursahib Singh Changiyara, Shaheed Bhai Balbir Singh Raipur, Shaheed Bhai Ajitpal Singh Hoshiarpur, and Shaheed Bhai Avtar Singh Khanda.
The 39th Martyrdom Day of the martyrs of Saka Nakodar was also celebrated at Gurdwara Sahib Dashmesh Cultural Centre, Calgary, in the province of Alberta, Canada.
