The Sikh Federation UK has strongly condemned the forced retirement of Giani Harpreet Singh, former executive of Akal Takht Sahib Ji and former Jathedar of Takht Shri Damdama Sahib Ji, as Jathedar of Sri Damdama Sahib. Chairman Bhai Amrik Singh Gill, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Cheheru, Bhai Dabinderjit Singh, Bhai Hardish Singh, Bhai Narinderjit Singh Thandi etc. said that the treatment meted out to the Jathedars of the Takhts for the past several decades is a direct violation of Sikh principles and is causing a great blow to Sikh dignity. Sikh Federation UK President Bhai Amrik Singh Gill said that the current Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib Ji, Giani Raghbir Singh, should take immediate action against this decision taken by the Shiromani Committee.
