A Delhi court had recently ordered the appointment of experts to assess the value of some properties of the Delhi Committee in the Guru Harkrishan Public Schools case. After which there has been a huge uproar in Delhi’s Sikh politics and challenges are being given to sit face to face in the media along with exchanging statements on each other. On this issue, Sardar Paramjit Singh Sarna has made serious allegations against the current administrators of the Delhi Committee in a press conference held recently and they have accepted the challenge of sitting in the media and having an open debate on the issue of committee management. Sarna alleged in the presence of his colleagues Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) President Kartar Singh Chawla, Jatinder Singh Sahni and others that the teachers of Guru Harkrishan Public Schools have to pay arrears of more than Rs 300 crore, for which the High Court should seize the properties of Delhi Committee President Harmeet Singh Kalka, General Secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon and former President Manjinder Singh Sirsa and pay the arrears to the employees. If the amount decreases after this, their jewellery can also be taken. Therefore, there is no need to tamper with the properties of gurdwaras and schools, which are the properties of the Sikh Panth. Sarna said that till 2012, 22 thousand children were studying in Guru Harkrishan Schools, which has now reduced to 12 thousand, which shows the failure of the committee to manage them.
Sarna, while challenging the central government regarding the Delhi Committee administrators, said in a sharp tone that the government should stop patting the backs of these people and the Home Ministry should get their accounts investigated under its supervision and the central government should stop laying hands on such dishonest people. He said that the Panth is currently celebrating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji but the committee administrators do not have any road map so that the nation can know something about the programs planned by them. He said that we had written a letter to Giani Harpreet Singh when he was the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib to get an investigation done about the schools but he did not take any action and now we will appeal to the new Jathedar to file a complaint in this regard and take action.
