The trend of going abroad is seen quite a lot among the people of Punjab. Various promises and lures are given by the agents to these people in order to go abroad and ride their future. But at the same time, cases of sending Punjabi youth abroad by some fake agents have come to light. There is nothing new either. The network of fake travel agents is eating Punjab’s economy like a worm. On the one hand, these people are cheating crores of rupees, while on the other hand, the victims of their fraud are being forced to go round the police stations and courts to get their money back. The widespread fraud in the immigration industry has destroyed many homes. Parents who are forced by their children are not only forced to give everything, but also become victims of fraud, these people go round the offices of travel agents for years to get their money back. It is assumed that if the visa is applied, then half of the money will be returned if not in your luck. In this case, fake travel agents cheat one and a half to two lakhs.
Among the victims of travel agents, 48 percent are young people who are less educated, unemployed and from rural areas, whom these travel agents lure into their trap by showing them big dreams and then slowly extort money from them. They start looting. By the time this younger generation finds out about the agent, a lot of money has already gone to them. According to statistics, more than two thousand complaints are received every month, out of which only 20 percent of the complaints are processed.
