This was a special day in Punjab politics. Three conferences were held on the land of Sri Muktsar Sahib. The first conference was of ‘Akali Dal Badal’. This party has been struggling for a long time to save its political ground and yesterday too, it seemed that it was trying to restore the family’s honor by sitting on the ground in the pandal to save its political ground.
Sukhbir Badal appealed to the people to restore their faith and talked about making every sacrifice for the people. The gathering was quite large but big leaders were absent. Even the discussion of Bikram Singh Majithia’s absence was on the lips of the people. Harjinder Singh Dhami was also not a part of this conference, no one even talked about him. Only one resolution was brought on the stage by the Akali Dal Badal party, a request was made that the decision of ‘Fakhar-e-Qaum’ award given to Parkash Singh Badal, which was withdrawn by Akal Takht Sahib, be reconsidered. Unity regarding the resolution was shown by making the congregation raise their hands. Surprisingly, till date, it has never happened that any political party has asked for a reconsideration of the Hukamnama of Akal Takht Sahib. The final point of discussion was Sukhbir Badal’s speech that revolved around Parkash Singh Badal. Many serious issues of Punjab were raised, especially the issue of agriculture. But nothing was said by Sukhbir Badal, although Balwinder Singh Bhundar discussed this topic. Sukhbir Badal always appears before the people as if he is being pushed. They think that if he is being pushed, then the Akali Dal is being pushed. And then they say that if both are being pushed, then the Panth is being pushed. Sukhbir Badal is not coming out of a selfish frame. They say we have shouldered all the blame. It is a matter of thought that Sukhbir Badal had said recently that I was absent during the sacrilege incident but Parkash Singh Badal was present. I don’t know why Sukhbir Badal is playing politics with children. The father, i.e. Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, had never called any person from the party for a meeting and the son is insulting everyone in the public on stages. The question also arises that when Sukhbir Badal used to say that whether the government is of Captain or Bhagwant Mann, the officers respect me more. And then why could they not stop the atmosphere from deteriorating? Well, there is no doubt that the Akali Dal keeps falling and rising.
The second stage was held by Bhai Amritpal Singh’s team on the occasion of the Maghi fair. A 15-point resolution was passed during the conference and the name of the party was announced as ‘Akali Dal Waris Punjab De’. This party presented itself as an alternative to the Badal party. It made Bhai Amritpal Singh the chief servant of the party. It talked about races and crops and said that it would work within the framework of the constitution, promised to strengthen Sikh institutions. It thanked all the Jathedars of Sri Akal Takht Sahib for the resolution of December 2. It drew such a line that if all the promises were fulfilled, we would say that it was a landslide conference for the Badals. I don’t know what else would have happened? Overall, this conference was also impressive, but the talk of the Akali Dal and Simranjit Singh Mann’s party has not yet been made.
The third conference was of Simranjit Singh Mann. As always, in this conference too, Mann showed his heat and said, “When someone asks you where you come from? Then say that we come from Maghi and are Khalistani.” Like every time, this sharp statement remained in the discussion. The rest of the warring parties were gathered on this stage. Dal Khalsa became a part of this stage. Simranjit Singh Mann is such a politician who is a puzzle. It is not known at what time what he will say and what he will do.
Which party will lead the Sikh vacuum? This will be clear from the election of the Shiromani Committee. As for the gathering between conferences, then the gathering should not be considered true because the Badal party is an expert in holding public gatherings. Gatherings used to take place between their conferences during the 2022 and 2024 elections as well, but the gatherings never change between votes. Just a deadly war has started, no one is ready to think seriously. These people themselves cause harm for their own interests and do not name the people. The level of consciousness and the firmness of promises is not visible in any party. They are just struggling to save their existence.
