The way the party has dismissed the Jathedars of the Takhts and appointed Jathedars of its own party, this action has been recorded as the darkest day in Sikh history. The Badal party’s anger against Jathedar Raghveer Singh and Jathedar Sultan Singh is that they have been advocating for the implementation of the orders issued by the Akal Takht Sahib on December 2 in any way and now the new Jathedars who have been appointed will also change the December 2 Hukamnama. Due to the lack of rules and regulations of the Jathedars, the Badals have got the opportunity to do whatever they want and they are ruthlessly destroying Sikh institutions and Sikh traditions. However, due to such anti-Pant activities of the Badals, the Khalsa Panth has repeatedly defeated the Badals in the elections and now the Badals have dug an even bigger hole for themselves.
How shameful it is that Baba Tek Singh Dhanaula, whose turban was removed during the Badals’ rule, has today been appointed as the Jathedar for his own interests and Bhai Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, who was appointed as the acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, often speaks on TV channels as a representative of the Badal Dal. Can these leaders who openly speak in favor of the Badals’ side do justice to the Khalsa Panth and their positions?
Now it also seems that the resignation of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami is not being accepted for the same reason that after first changing the Jathedar, fully fulfilling the December 2nd Hukamnama and recruiting the Akali Dal according to the Badals, Advocate Dhami should be brought back to power. This entire process is being done shamelessly and ruthlessly to defy the December 2nd Hukamnama.
The Sangats kept asking Giani Raghbir Singh to convene a Panthic gathering again and again but he did not pay any attention. Badalka was wondering why he was making efforts through a five-member committee to implement the December 2nd Hukam? The truth is that he was deprived of the Jathedarship just because he talked about implementing the Hukamnama. If the Jathedarship of the Jathedars in the community can also be taken away for supporting the Hukam of the Akal Takht Sahib, then what worse can happen than this? This act of Badalka will not only ruin his political future but it will also be difficult to compensate for the loss that the community is suffering.
The need of the hour is that the Sikh Sangats, organizations and the nationalist Akali leadership will have to come together in the presence of the Akal Takht Sahib and take big decisions like in 1920.
