The Maharashtra government has issued instructions to all departmental commissioners to implement the ‘Sikh Anand Karaj Marriage Act’ at the state level. Maharashtra State Punjabi Sahitya Akademi said that this is a historic step which will make registration of marriages simple and easy and there will be no difficulty in issuing marriage certificates. Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for implementing the Anand Karaj Marriage Act in the state.
