A Delhi court has convicted Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, who is lodged in Tihar Jail after a long 41 years, in a case related to the Sikh massacre. The court has delivered justice in the case after a long delay, which has given some reassurance to the aggrieved Sikh hearts and increased faith in the law of the country.
Sardar Paramjit Singh Virji, Chief Sevadar of Gurubani Research Foundation and former Dharam Prachar Head of Delhi Gurdwara Committee, said that the court should give the strictest punishment to Sajjan Kumar in this case. He said that those who have worked hard, regardless of which party or faction they belong to, are thanked and we hope that the bench looking into the November 1984 Sikh massacre cases by the current central government will be diligent in bringing Jagdish Tytler and Kamal Nath, including other accused, behind bars soon and those who had worked hard to get Sajjan Kumar convicted will continue to work similarly against the remaining accused. It is noteworthy that Paramjit Singh Virji’s Bhai Sahib also attained martyrdom in the Sikh massacre of November 1984.
