Punjabi University Patiala’s Dr. Balbir Singh Singh Sahitya Kendra, Dehradun released the April-October issue of ‘Panchbati Sandesh’. This special issue related to Giani Kirpal Singh provides important information about his life, literary contributions and Panthic services. His entire life has been dedicated to the service of the Sikh Panth and the study of Sikh scriptures. Punjabi University, Patiala’s Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Narinder Kaur while releasing this special issue on Giani Kirpal Singh said that this issue will prove beneficial for researchers and students of Sikhism.The coordinator of the center, Dr. Paramvir Singh, said that this issue has been prepared with the help of Dr. Kulwinder Singh Dehradun. Important parts related to the autobiography prepared by Giani Ji have been included in this issue. During the events of Sri Darbar Sahib in June 1984, Giani Kirpal Singh Ji was the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. At that time, all the Sikh leaders were in jails and he led the Panth with the help of the chief granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Giani Sahib Singh Ji. A special interview of Giani Sahib Singh Ji has been published in this issue, from which information regarding important issues related to the Sikh Panth is obtained. Along with his Panthic responsibilities, Giani Kirpal Singh Ji remained associated with Sikh studies throughout his life and he had done these important academic works in his life – Golden History of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar Sahiban, Eye-witnessed Saka Blue Star, Life of Baba Gurbaksh Singh Shaheed, Sikh Philosophy, Ideal Life of Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Three Colors, Editing of Sri Guru Panth Parkash composed by Gyani Gyan Singh, Sam Arth Kosh, Sri Amritsar Mahima Kosh etc.
