The work of the roundabout will be completed at the intersection of Sector 50-51 and 62-63 in Chandigarh. The Punjab-Haryana High Court has refused to interfere in this matter by dismissing the petition filed in 1999 against the notification issued in 1991. In this way, the petitioner has lost the 25-year-old battle and the roundabout will be constructed by demolishing Gurdwara Sanjha Sahib at this place.
While filing the petition, Baba Charanjit Kaur had challenged the notification issued for land acquisition in 1991. The petitioner argued that no personal notice was issued to her for this. Also, a religious building is present on the land which is being acquired. The petitioner had appealed to free her land on the basis of equality while arguing for freeing the land adjacent to her land from acquisition. The High Court, while giving its order, said that according to the law, it was not necessary to give her any personal notice, notice regarding the notification was issued in the newspapers.
