Dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Bhai Matidas Ji, Bhai Satidas Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji and the 350th Gurutagaddi Diwas of the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a grand Gurmat Samagam was organized by the Directorate of Education of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall today. In this event, students of schools/colleges running under the management of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee participated through Gurbani Kirtan, Katha Vachar as well as Kavishri and poetry. During this, art exhibitions were specially organized by the educational institutions affiliated to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, which became the center of attraction for the Sangat. Along with this, Gatka competitions were also effective. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Mr. Kulwant Singh Mannan said that the Shiromani Committee, with the support of the Sikh Sangat, is going to organize a centenary event at Sri Anandpur Sahib in November 2025, under which the Shiromani Committee is organizing a series of different events. Under this, this special event has been organized for the students of schools/colleges running under the management of the Sikh organization on the directions of the President of the Shiromani Committee, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. He said that the purpose of this event is to connect children and youth with their rich heritage and to provide information about history. He said that the Shiromani Committee also makes efforts to connect children with their heritage along with worldly education in its educational institutions. Along with imparting religious education to the students, the Sikh martial art Gatka is also taught. He said that it is a matter of happiness that in today’s event, where Gurbani Kirtan was performed by the students, they also shared history through stories, thoughts and poetry. He appealed to the devotees to pay respect to Guru Sahib by participating in the centenary celebrations with their families.
Meanwhile, a special Sikh martial art competition, Gatka, was organized at Ghanta Ghar Plaza. Children from various educational institutions participated enthusiastically in these competitions. The devotees also enjoyed these competitions.
