The issue of lapse in security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Punjab has come into the headlines again after 3 years. The court has issued arrest warrants for 25 farmers in this case. In which the section of attempt to murder has also been added.
This came to light when summons were issued to the farmers in this regard. From which it was revealed that in the 3-year-old security lapse case of January 5, 2022, the police have now added sections 307, 353, 341, 186, 149 of the IPC and section 8-B of the National Highways Act. Earlier this case was registered under section 283 for blocking a public road.
Let us tell you that on the day of the lapse in security, the Prime Minister was to address a rally in Ferozepur. Apart from this, we also had to go to Hussainiwala Memorial to pay tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Initially, he had to go by helicopter, but due to bad weather, he was taken by road.
But the farmers blocked the way. After which the Prime Minister’s convoy stopped at the Pyareana flyover in Ferozepur for about 20 minutes. After which the Prime Minister returned and left for Delhi. After returning to Bathinda, Modi told the airport officials, “Tell your Chief Minister my thanks that I was able to reach Bathinda airport alive.”
According to police sources, the farmers were not appearing in the court during the hearing, due to which the court ordered their arrest and production in the court on January 22. In this case, SP (Detective) Randhir Kumar said that the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
The leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Krantikari), who are associated with this incident, say that the farmers were protesting peacefully that day and they had no idea that the Prime Minister was coming by road. Therefore, wrongful death and other sections have been added against them. This farmer organization is part of the United Front leading the movement that is currently leading the farmers’ movement on the Shambhu and Dhabi Gujjar (Khanauri) barriers. Therefore, the farmer leaders are arguing that this action has been taken with the intention of weakening the farmers’ movement. The important thing is that the central government has been the target of the farmers’ movement because most of the demands of the United Kisan Morcha are related to it. Till now, the Punjab government has been taking the stand that it is only playing the role of an arbitrator between the center and the protesting farmers, but now that the police has added serious sections against the farmers in the case of violating the security of Prime Minister Modi, the Punjab government will also come under the farmers’ target.
It is also fair for the farmers to say that the police did not give them any information in this regard. In this regard, the question arises that the police needed to bring forward the evidence that now suddenly they have found such evidence that such strict sections have been added against the farmers. In this regard, this action can add fuel to the fire. The farmers of Punjab have been fighting for their demands for a long time and in this matter the central government has adopted an attitude of almost not talking to the agitating parties at all. It would be good to stop being stubborn and start talking to the representatives of the farmers because stubbornness does not solve the issues but usually worsens them.
