Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahni, MP – Rajya Sabha member from Punjab today demanded in Parliament to enact a law against exploitation of innocent people through superstitions, black magic and miracles. Dr. Vikramjit said that it is very worrying that lakhs of people are falling prey to fraudulent accounts of so-called miracles which are being used to encourage religious conversions. Dr. Vikramjit further said that the Maharashtra government has already passed a law against black magic and superstitions, and it is a punishable offence. He reiterated that Parliament should enact a law at the national level to criminalise these heinous attempts to mislead innocent people for conversion.
