Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee started the Kar Sewa of cleaning the Sarovar in Gurdwara Bangla Sahib after a gap of about 10 years today.
On this occasion, the Head Granthi of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Giani Ranjit Singh, offered prayers and then the Sewa began. This Sewa will be completed by the entire team including Baba Bachan Singh Ji, Baba Surinder Singh, Baba Satnam Singh, Baba Ravi Ji with the support of the Sangat.
Addressing the Sangat present on this occasion, Committee President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka and General Secretary Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said that this Sewa falls to those who sing the praises of the Guru. They said that the Sangat of Delhi got a lucky time that the Kar Sewa of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is starting today after 10 years. They said that there is a great sense of devotion among the Sangat that this Sewa is being done after 10 years, in which they can perform Sewa while reciting the Bani of Guru Sahib. They said that due to this Sewa, the Sangat receives the happiness and blessings of the Guru Sahibs. He said that Guru Sahib had cured the Sangat from the smallpox epidemic at that time by sitting at this holy place. He said that whoever comes to this place and pays homage and touches the feet of the Guru, then he gets all kinds of blessings by coming here. He said that he congratulates the Sangat who are very fortunate who are getting the opportunity to participate in this Kar Sewa and after participating in the Sewa, their lives will become successful. He also appealed to the Sangat to take advantage of this historic opportunity and make their lives successful by participating in Kar Sewa.
On the occasion of the commencement of the Kar Sewa, former President of the Committee and current Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and all the office bearers and members of the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee participated and rendered service. Mr. Sirsa, while talking to the media after participating in the cleaning service, described himself as very fortunate. He said that he is very fortunate that Guru Sahib has bestowed this service on him.
