Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Capital Investment Promotion, Labour, Hospitality, Industries and Commerce and Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Punjab Mr. Tarunpreet Singh Saund attended the function organized on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Ji at A.S. Modern School (Primary Wing) Khanna as the Chief Guest.
Cabinet Minister Mr. Tarunpreet Singh Saund while paying tribute to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Ji on his birth anniversary said that Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha was the youngest revolutionary of India who sacrificed his life for the country at the age of just 19 years. He further said that Kartar Singh Sarabha, who was martyred at such a young age, has been a source of inspiration for the younger generations for centuries to render selfless service to his country. Mr. Saund said that the great martyr played an important role in freeing the country from the clutches of foreign imperialism. He said that as an active leader of the Ghadar Party, he worked tirelessly to achieve independence first abroad and then within the country.
The Cabinet Minister called upon the youth to draw inspiration from the great sacrifice made by our great heroes to protect the unity and integrity of the country.
Saund said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that the birth anniversaries of great heroes are being celebrated with great enthusiasm. He said that the youth and students should draw inspiration from their lives and serve the country with enthusiasm and determination.
He further said that these great sons of the earth had made their sacrifices to free the country from the clutches of foreign imperialism.
He said that martyrs are not limited to any religion, community or region but they are the pride of the entire nation and a source of inspiration for the coming generations. He said that following the steps shown by our great martyrs and contributing to the socio-economic development of the state and the country is the true tribute to them.
He also reminded that our great freedom fighters made supreme sacrifices for the betterment of the coming generations and for the all-round development of the country and the state and said that we all should make strong efforts to appreciate the aspirations of our freedom fighters.
He said that Punjabis have made the maximum 90 percent sacrifices in the country’s freedom struggle, even today when war-like situations arise on the country’s borders, Punjabis are the front-runners. The memorial of some or the other martyr in almost every village of Punjab is a clear witness to this.
The Cabinet Minister said that the families of freedom fighters not only from Punjab but also from different states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh also participated in this event. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Saund also honored the families of freedom fighters.
The demands related to the families of the freedom fighters were placed before the Cabinet Minister Mr. Tarunpreet Singh Saund by the President of the Freedom Fighters and Family Welfare Society. The Cabinet Minister Saund said that you should give me these demands in writing. I will convey these demands to the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann.
On this occasion, a blood donation camp was also organized by Mahakal Blood Sewa and Human Welfare Blood Donor Association in collaboration with Civil Hospital Khanna.
On this occasion, Sub Divisional Magistrate Khanna Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon and President of the Freedom Fighters and Family Welfare Society Harjit Singh Bhatia, Councilor Parampreet Singh, Councilor Sukhmanjit Singh, Surinder Bawa, former Councilor Rajinder Singh Jeet, Youth President of Aam Aadmi Party Khanna constituency Gursirat Singh and a large number of important personalities were also present.
