Ludhiana May () Under the campaign launched by the Punjab government “War Against Drugs”,
Today, an awareness campaign was launched in ward numbers 14, 15 and 16 of the East constituency to make the residents aware and to support the government and police administration in this campaign. On this occasion, mainly the East constituency MLA Daljit Singh Grewal Bhola, Councilor Sukhmel Singh Grewal, Councilor Ashwani Sharma Gobhi and Councilor Jaspreet Kaur specially arrived. Addressing the residents of the area in different wards on this occasion, MLA Daljit Singh Grewal Bhola said that the failure of the previous governments that ruled the state is the result of which the young generation today is addicted to drugs. He said that on the other hand, the government led by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann is making all kinds of efforts to eradicate the scourge of drugs. He said that the state government has launched a campaign against drugs called “War on Drugs” in which our police administration is honestly catching drug smugglers and throwing them in jail under this campaign, while on the other hand, bulldozers are also being used on the houses of people involved in this drug trade, so that the evil of drugs spread in the society can be eradicated from the root. MLA Grewal said that if we want to save our young generation from evils like drugs, then we all have to be a part of this campaign and fulfill our duty as good citizens. On this occasion, the ward councilors present said that they are also making people aware about this issue from locality to locality and if anyone is involved in this business in any locality of any ward, then we are appealing to the administration to inform them immediately. He said that the cooperation of the people is very important to eliminate any evil spread in the society. On this occasion, a large number of Aam Aadmi Party workers and leaders, as well as the residents of the area were also present.
