A group of about 2840 Sikh pilgrims from the country left for Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border to celebrate Baisakhi. These pilgrims will visit the holy shrines in Pakistan along with celebrating Baisakhi. They have been given a 10-day visa.
On this occasion, a group of 1763 pilgrims was sent by the SGPC. The group was led by SGPC member Surjit Singh Tugalwal. The SGPC had sent 1795 visa applications, out of which 1763 were issued visas while the applications of 32 pilgrims were rejected. This group will return to India on April 19 after visiting the religious places.
