A gunfight broke out between the miscreants who opened fire on a chemist shop in Sector 32, Chandigarh, and the police, in which one of the miscreants was shot in the leg. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. These miscreants worked with a gang and had threatened a businessman a few days ago.
All the three miscreants were travelling in a car. When the police chased them, the car hit a pole, injuring all three. In the ensuing encounter, two miscreants Rahul and Ricky were shot, while the third accomplice was driving the car.
According to sources, the accused had planned to open fire at a taxi stand today and demanded Rs 50 lakh. They had come to Chandigarh specifically to carry out the firing and were also involved in the recent firing incidents in Chandigarh.
According to sources, the taxi stand owner told the police that he received a call demanding Rs 50 lakh. The caller identified himself as gangster Saba Gobindgarh. He threatened him to arrange the money immediately, otherwise his fate would be like the one in the Sector 32 pharmacy store shooting and he would not be able to escape. He also said that in Chandigarh he knew how the police and the system worked.
