Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Bhogal, President of All India Riot Victims Relief Committee 1984, gave a memorandum to the Honorable Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, in which he clarified that before the Sikh massacre in Delhi in 1984, Rajiv Gandhi had said that when a big tree falls, the earth shakes, after which the dance of death continued in Delhi for three days, the police remained a silent spectator. Thousands of Sikhs were massacred, crores of lives and properties were lost, people were taken out of trains and killed, mothers and sisters were insulted by Congress goons, mainly H.K.L. Bhagat, Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, Kamal Nath. On whose instructions, destruction was created in Gurdwara Pul Bangash and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj. Irreparable damage was done to the Gurdwaras, both white and blue turbans were targeted, no one was spared, even the slogan “Beti hai Sardar ki, Desh ke Gaddar ki” was raised at Maneka Gandhi’s house. Thus, the 1984 Sikh massacre went down in the black pages of history, which was also mentioned by Hon’ble Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the country’s Parliament. He said that 127 people were killed in Kanpur, in memory of this Sikh massacre, the UP government has planned to build a memorial. He said that after many years, BJP has come to power in Delhi, and at the Centre too, under the able leadership of Hon’ble Modi ji, in 2014, the BJP government came to power. Then Hon’ble Rajnath Singh formed an SIT to punish the perpetrators of the massacre, after which big crocodiles like Sajjan Kumar went behind bars. And similarly, many culprits were punished in other cities of the country. The BJP government went to Tilak Vihar and distributed Rs 5 lakh each to the victims. And recently, government jobs were also given to the dependents of the victim’s family.
He said that the entire Sikh community and Punjabis living in Delhi as well as abroad have a demand from the Honorable Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ji that just as thousands of Sikhs were massacred in Delhi, a memorial should be built in Delhi in the memory of the Sikhs martyred in 1984. So that people coming from the country and abroad can also know how the Congress had done injustice to the Sikhs.
