“War Against Drugs” is a symbol of the Punjab government’s firm resolve for social reform and the “Nasha Mukti Yatra” being run under this campaign is making a significant contribution in eradicating drugs from the state. It is clear from the overwhelming support being received by the people that drugs will not remain on the land of Punjab for much longer.
This was expressed by Chairman Market Committee Khanna Jagtar Singh Gill Ratanheri, Coordinator of Nasha Mukti Morcha from Khanna constituency Parampreet Singh, Education Coordinators Mr. Avtar Singh and Bhupinder Singh Saund while addressing meetings with Village Defense Committees at villages Panjrukha, Turmri, Bivipur and Taunsa. They said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has broken the supply chain of drugs by taking firm decisions to make the land of Punjab drug-free.
He said that the support given to the government in the efforts being made by the people of Punjab to eradicate drugs is a symbol of the fact that Punjabis have made up their minds to uproot the scourge of drugs and now the eradication of drugs is certain.
These leaders further said that the aim of the drug eradication campaign being run by the Punjab government to completely eradicate drugs from the state is to eradicate drugs with the cooperation of all sections and making every village and every street drug free is the priority of the government.
They appealed to the village panchayats and village defense committees to bring the youth trapped in the grip of drugs to government drug de-addiction centers and get them treated free of cost and put them on the path to living a healthy life.
On this occasion, the villagers, especially the youth, were appealed to stay away from drugs and play an active role in making the society free from this evil. During this, people were also given an oath not to allow drugs to be sold in their villages and to unite against drugs.
On this occasion, BDPO Khanna Gurpreet Singh, Naib Tehsildar Khanna Manpreet Singh, Panchayat Officer Kuldeep Singh, Sarpanch of village Panjrukha Sukhwinder Singh, Sarpanch of Turmri Paramjit Kaur, Sarpanch of Bibipur Gurmik Singh, Sarpanch of Tosa Harpreet Kaur, Malkit Singh Mita, besides officers of the police and health departments and other departments and members of village defense committees, panchayat members and a large number of villagers were present.
