Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee organized a Career Guidance and Counseling Fair at Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall in Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib Complex which was inaugurated by Cabinet Ministers Mr. Ashish Sood and Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa in the presence of Committee President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka and General Secretary Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon and Committee members. Thousands of students participated in this camp who took advantage of the stalls set up by various departments and colleges including Army, Air Force, DRDO, Civil Aviation, Engineering. Praising the Delhi Gurdwara Committee, Cabinet Minister Mr. Ashish Sood said that the Committee is working as an example for the service of humanity. He said that with this initiative of Career Guidance Fair, the Committee has acted as a guide to the youth to choose the professional career of their choice. He said that other institutions should take guidance from Delhi Gurdwara Committee and the future of the country should come forward to guide the youth. Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the Delhi Gurdwara Committee is doing a great service to humanity. He said that although the main work of the committee is to look after the management of Gurdwara Sahibs, it has taken many steps for the service of humanity including the establishment of educational institutions, health care facilities. He said that it is a great achievement of the Delhi Gurdwara Committee that it is not only providing free education to the needy but also providing very cheap medical facilities to the needy. He said that till date 90 thousand people have undergone free dialysis and MRI/CT scan and other facilities are being provided at cheap rates. He assured the Delhi Gurdwara Committee that the BJP government led by Smt. Rekha Gupta will provide it with all possible support. Addressing the gathering, the committee president Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka and general secretary Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said that thousands of youth have benefited from today’s career guidance and counseling fair to choose a professional career. He said that such an initiative has been taken to improve the future of the youth. Praising the Delhi government, he said that the people of Delhi are happy that a government working for the betterment of the people has been established in Delhi and the people have trusted the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that in the last 10 years, the AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal had made the Punjabi language and Punjabi teachers miserable and efforts were made to completely eliminate Punjabi language from the national capital. He expressed the hope that now in the new government, Punjabi language and its teachers will get due respect. He also expressed the hope that the new government will provide maximum employment opportunities for the youth in the government and private sector and will fulfill the promises made to the people. Students of 10th, 11th and 12th classes were present on this occasion in large numbers. Delhi Committee office bearers, members and others participated in the function.
