Akhand Kirtani Jatha (Delhi) organized a special tribute ceremony dedicated to the memory of Bhai Mehal Singh Babbar, the famous Singh of Akhand Kirtani Jatha, who passed away on March 24, at the historical shrine of Sahib Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. Bhai Arvinder Singh Raja, the chief servant of Delhi Jatha, while talking about the services of Bhai Mehal Singh Ji, the pillar of the Sikh nation’s independence movement, for almost half a century, praised his Gursikh life, peaceful nature and deeds of always thinking about the progress of the nation. He said that Bhai Sahib Ji’s younger brother, the great martyr Jathedar Sukhdev Singh Ji, was the chief servant of Babbar Khalsa who fought in the national freedom struggle from 1978 to 1992 in hiding. He said that the departure of Bhai Sahib is an irreparable loss for the nation. The nation has lost a wise leader. He said that Bhai Sahib, following the motto of the tenth Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj Ji, “Panth Vasse Main Ujjaran”, has made a great contribution to the service of the Panth for decades, leaving behind family comforts to serve the Panth and attain the kingdom. May the true Guru make his tireless efforts bear fruit and grant eternal rest to his departed soul. His family has also given him full support in this journey. May the true Guru grant his family the gift of accepting fate and living in the best of times. He said that our tribute to these national warriors is that we too should contribute more and more to their remaining work.
