Jathedars should firmly hold the supreme position of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and serve him with self-surrender and take wise decisions for the nation, and not board the boat full of sins of Badals. Now, before making the announcements that the office bearers of the Shiromani Committee have to make, they should consider Guru Mehraj as their witness and think whether they want to become a Masand or remain a Sikh of the Guru. These words were expressed by Bhai Narayan Singh Chaura, a Panthic thinker imprisoned behind the bars of the Rupnagar District Jail, in his statement issued through his son Advocate Jagjit Singh, who went to meet him in the jail.
He said that it has become clear that the Akali Dal appoints Badal Jathedars out of their envelopes, as long as they become Badal’s sons and speak their language, it is fine and if a few words are said here and there, the dictatorial Badal family does not tolerate it and shows them the way out by humiliating them. He said that history is witness that such a deadly phenomenon has been going on for a long time, such a thing happened in the historical day of the Sikh Panth in 1999, when the entire Sikh Panth was organizing the three hundredth anniversary of Khalsa Sajna Diwas, at that time Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh was humiliatingly removed. He said that on the other hand, there is the Sikh Panth that accepts the true and pure Gursikh of the Guru and the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, which now does not accept Jathedars out of the envelope of the Badals. He appealed to the Sikh community to get rid of them and said that the Akali Dal, Badal and the Badal family are a burden on this earth and a stain on the Khalsa Panth, from which Sikhs should rid themselves.
