The Amritsar executive committee of Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” has levelled serious allegations against SGPC Secretary Partap Singh Bajwa. In a press statement issued today by Bhai Shamsher Singh Tala, a five-member committee member of Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” Amritsar, he said that a very worrying incident has come to light where former Akali MLA Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha, who has been expelled from Shiromani Akali Dal for 10 years on the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji and has been sentenced, was honored at the office of SGPC Secretary Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa, while SGPC’s Chief Accountant Mr. Milkha Singh was honored at the SGPC Secretariat on the occasion of his retirement, which raises serious questions on the Badal Committee in control of SGPC. While releasing a picture of the above-mentioned matter officially published by SGPC in the Gurdwara Gazette of February 2025, Mr. Satta said that this is not a matter of giving honor to someone personally by an individual but a direct violation of the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji. Which we strongly condemn.
Mr. Satta said that by the way, it seems ridiculous to ask for an explanation from the Badal Committee that controls SGPC, but according to Sikh morality and committee laws, we, as a Sangat, demand an answer from the SGPC Interim Committee as to how SGPC Secretary Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa allowed Virsa Singh Valtoha to be given this honor? Has SGPC now started rejecting the decisions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and has no respect for those decisions? If persons who have been punished and warned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib start playing important roles in the official functions of SGPC, then is it not a direct violation of Panthic justice? Bhai Tantra said that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the highest authoritative place of the Sikh Panth and the decisions taken from there are stone and line for the Sikh community. But if the tradition of disobeying its orders starts from the platform of SGPC, then it will have a deep impact on Sikh morality and unity. He said that we demand from the SGPC Interim Committee that immediate explanation should be given on this and immediate action should be taken against those who play with the morality of the Guru Ghar for personal gain and it should be made public.
