A hearing was held in the MPMLA court of Agra yesterday in the case of actress and BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut. The actress did not appear in the court nor did her lawyer reach there. Earlier, a hearing was held in the court on November 12 and a notice was issued to the actress seeking a reply. According to the notice, on November 28, the BJP MP was to present her case in the MPMLA court through her lawyer or through any lawyer. Even after the notice was issued by the MPMLA Justice Anuj Kumar Singh of the special court, actress Kangana Ranaut neither came to the hearing nor did any lawyer appear on her behalf in the court. It is awaited what order the court issues after the next hearing.
In this regard, senior Congress leader and lawyer Ramashankar Sharma of Agra had filed a case against Kangana Ranaut under the sections of sedition and contempt in the Special Judge MPMLA Court on September 11. It was alleged that BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut, in an interview on August 26, had called the farmers protesting against the central government as murderers and had also used objectionable language against them. The next hearing of the case, which is ongoing in the court, has been scheduled for December 12.
