A lawsuit has been filed in Clark County Municipal Court against former President Donald Trump and Republican Vice President JD Vance for making false claims without evidence about Haitian immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio. The legal battle is being led by veteran Indian-origin human rights lawyer Subodh Chandra on behalf of the San Diego-based Haitian Bridge Alliance.
The lawsuit filed criminal charges and states that Donald Trump and Vance repeatedly claimed that Haitians steal and eat local people’s pets, dogs and cats. This claim was initially rejected by city and state officials. The Haitian Bridge Alliance is a non-profit social organization that works on immigrant policies. In the lawsuit filed in the court by the executive director of the organization, Gurline Joseph, it has been said that Trump and Vance have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the Haitian community by making baseless accusations.
