If we talk about martyrs in different communities, then the name of the Sikh community comes first. This community is full of martyrs. There are martyrs in this community from childhood to old age. Blessed were the four sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji who became martyrs without giving up in front of the Mughal government. In this article, we talk about the martyrdom of two younger sons of Guru Ji. The martyrdom of these sons is a big tragedy, but their small lives are a big tragedy! These young lives have made the tragedy very big.
At the time of the massacre, the youngest Sahibzada, Baba Fateh Singh, was less than 7 years old. Baba Zorawar Singh, the elder of Baba Fateh Singh, was about 9 years old. These Sahibzadas were brutally killed. This massacre is one of the most painful memories of sacrifices in Sikh history.
After leaving Anandpur, when the Guru’s family was separated, the first difficulty at that time was crossing the Sarsa River. While crossing the Sarsa River, the river was flooded. Due to the flood, two younger Sahibzadas from the Guru’s family and the children’s mother, Grandma Gujar Kaur Ji, were separated from the Guru and the Singhs, and Gangu Brahmin (the cook of the Guru’s house) was left with these three. Due to the flood in Sarsa, many of the Guru’s Singhs, many horses, heavy treasures and a lot of valuable history were washed away.
After separating from Guru Ji, the first night of the grandmother and grandchildren was spent in the hut of Kumme Mashki. It was here that a mother named Chhami brought them bread. It was here that Gangu Brahmin, the dishonest cook, became dishonest. From here, Gangu Brahmin took the grandmother and grandchildren to his village Saheri (near Morinde). Nowadays, the name of this village has been changed to Guru Mari Kheri.
The dishonest Gangu Brahmin gave this news to the Morinda police station that those whom the Mughal government is looking for are in my possession. After informing Gangu Brahmin, the family of Guru Ji from Morinda police station was arrested and kept in Morinde police station for a night and then reached Basi Pathana. From there, the children were handcuffed and chained and brought to Sirhind police station.
24 December 1704 AD The two Sahibzadas were separated from their mother and presented in the state court. At the time of presentation, the government servants were sure that the Sahibzadas would waver in the absence of their grandmother, but on the first day they remained steadfast, the Qazi did not pronounce the fatwa. On the Qazi’s request, the children were sent back to their grandmother in the cold tower. It was here that, despite the fear and strictness of the state, Bhai Moti Ram Mehra took great risks and served these fearless and fearless heroes with milk and water. Mata Gujar Kaur Ji thanked Moti Ram Mehra for the service of feeding the children with milk.
