During the meeting at the local Bachat Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner said that 14 nurseries of the district under the Forest Department will provide fruit-bearing, shade-bearing, ornamental, etc. varieties of saplings.

He said that the maintenance of the trees to be planted is very important and everyone should be serious about it.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain also said that this plantation drive is in line with the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to encourage tree planting to make Punjab clean, green and pollution free. He stressed that a clean and pollution free environment is essential for the well-being of the citizens, as trees are the main source of oxygen, which is also important for human life.
Appealing to the residents of the district to play an important role in making the district clean, green and pollution free, he said that such plantation drives are more important because the decreasing greenery is a matter of concern for everyone which is a serious threat to the environment and human health.
The Deputy Commissioner said that it is the duty of every individual to come forward and plant as many saplings as possible to provide greenery to their district. Seeking full cooperation of the people in this noble cause, he asked the residents to plant at least one sapling and take care of it for our future generations.
