In protest against Republic Day, Dal Khalsa and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar announced a protest march on January 25 in Mansa, before which the police put Sikh leaders under house arrest. Among them, senior leaders of Dal Khalsa Baba Hardeep Singh Maharaj, Gurwinder Singh Bathinda, Balkaran Singh Dabwali, Jeevan Singh Gill Kalan and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar District President Parminder Singh Balianwali, among many others, were kept under house arrest by the police.
On this occasion, Baba Hardeep Singh Maharaj and Parminder Singh Balianwali said that Panthic thinking cannot be suppressed by keeping them under house arrest and they are forced to celebrate Republic Day as a black day. They said that the proud government of Punjab, like the previous governments, has resorted to a strategy of pressure instead of providing justice to the Sikh community, for which the government will have to pay the price in the coming days. It is worth mentioning that today, a march was also taken out in Mansa by Panthic organizations including Dal Khalsa and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar. Despite the detentions, a large number of Sikh leaders reached Mansa and marched. On this occasion, there was a scuffle with the police and arrests were also made.
