The weather in Punjab will change from tomorrow, Thursday. During this period, light to moderate rain is likely at some places. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph are also possible. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in this regard.
The average maximum temperature has increased by 0.5 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. This is 5.4 degrees Celsius higher than the normal in the state. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at Bhakra Dam at 25 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Amritsar at 2.8 degrees Celsius.Meanwhile, according to the Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, dense fog is likely to occur at some places in Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala today, while the remaining areas will remain dry. However, visibility of 50 meters was recorded in Amritsar and 100 meters in Bathinda.
