While on one hand the dyeing industry of Ludhiana is facing a court case with NGT regarding pollution in Budha Nala, on the other hand, the team of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is busy taking samples from both CETPs (related to Tajpur Road and Focal Point Dyeing) coming on Tajpur Road since morning. It is being told that after this the team will also take discharge samples from the outlet of Bahadur Ke Road CETP. It is to be noted that this investigation is being done suddenly and senior officials of CPCB are present in it, while the Executive and SDO of the zone related to PPCB are present on the spot. It is to be noted that the dyeing industry of Ludhiana is busy in clearing its position by presenting its side in the National Green Tribunal regarding the pollution in Budha Nala. Whereas the Punjab Pollution Control Board has issued instructions not to let the treated and untreated discharge of all CETPs fall into Budha Nala. A day earlier, during the hearing in the National Green Tribunal, a guideline was issued to run these CETPs of Ludhiana till February 20. The functioning of these CETPs and the status of their treated water as per the set standards will also become clear in the sampling test of CPCB.
