Abohar: A 14-year-old player playing a football match in Dhrangwala village of the sub-division died suddenly while playing a shot on the field today. His body has been kept in the government hospital for postmortem. Sadar Police Station is investigating the case.
Giving information about this, Pindra Singh, a resident of the village, said that on Sunday, a football tournament was organized by Maharishi Balmiki Sports Club in Dhrangwala village, in which football teams from different villages were participating. He said that during the first match today, when all the players were playing football on the field, Jassu alias Jasmeet, son of Parshottam, a resident of Alamwala village of Malout, suddenly fell on the ground while taking a shot.Other players and administrators present at the spot picked him up and immediately took him to a private doctor, from where he was taken to a government hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. It has been learnt that Jassu was the youngest and only brother of three sisters, while his father works as a labourer in the village. Initially, the child’s death is believed to have been due to a heart attack, but the postmortem report will reveal the exact cause of death.
