With an aim to facilitate the voters during the Ludhiana West by-elections, administration has set up Model, Green, PwD and Women polling stations in the constituency. Voting for the by-election would be held on June 19.
Divulging details, Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Himanshu Jain stated that that the Persons with Disability (PwD) polling station would be managed by PwD staff only. Similarly, the women polling station would be managed by women staff.
DEO Jain further stated that special emphasises has been given to greenery and plantation in the green polling station.
Model polling stations have been established at Government High School, Haibowal Kalan; Gujjranwala Guru Nanak Public Co-education School, Gobind Nagar; GGN Khalsa College for Boys, Civil Lines; Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar camp; Shaheed-E-Azam Sukhdev Thapar Girls Senior Secondary School near ESI hospital; BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar (near GTB hospital); Holy Heart Senior Secondary School, Punjab Mata Nagar; G.S Memorial Public School, Block-A, BRS Nagar; DAV Public School, Block-C, BRS Nagar and Guru Nanak International School, Block-I, BRS Nagar.
Similarly, Women polling station has been established in Lodhi club and Green polling station has been established in Government Senior Secondary Smart School in Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The PwD polling station has been set up in Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) Senior Secondary School.
DEO Himanshu Jain stated all necessary arrangements have been made at the polling stations across Ludhiana West constituency. He further appealed to the eligible voters to step out in large numbers and exercise their Right to Vote without any fear on June 19.
