A large-scale cordon and search operation was conducted today in the areas of Bahadur Ke Road and Noorwala Road, Ludhiana, under the directions of Sh. Jitendra Jorwal, IAS, Excise Commissioner, Punjab.
The operation was jointly executed by teams led by Assistant Commissioners (Excise) Ludhiana East and West, Dr. Shivani and Sh. Inderjeet Singh Nagpal, along with Excise Officers Sh. Amit Goyal and Sh. Ashok Kumar, Excise Inspectors, and Excise Police personnel from across Punjab. The operation was marked by full-scale deployment and meticulous coordination.
Approximately 155 police personnel and around 100 officers and officials from the Excise Department—totaling about 255 personnel—participated in this high-intensity drive. The primary objective was to detect and dismantle illegal liquor networks, ensure strict compliance with Excise laws, and bolster enforcement efforts in susceptible areas.
The Excise Department reiterates its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against illicit liquor activities and assures continued robust action across the state to safeguard public health and revenue.
