Ludhiana, May 15, 2025: Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora has said that the Local Government Department, Punjab has launched a one-time settlement scheme on outstanding/partially paid property tax to provide relief to the public.
He was addressing a press conference here on Thursday. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur was also present on the occasion.
According to the notification, the relief on outstanding/partially paid property tax has been given as a one-time settlement scheme for those people who have failed to deposit the outstanding house tax or property tax levied under the Acts till March 31, 2025.
Giving further information, he said that if the entire principal amount is deposited in one lump sum by July 31, 2025, then all the penalty and interest levied on the said amount till this period will be waived. However, if the above outstanding amount is deposited after July 31, 2025 but before October 31, 2025, then all the penalty and interest levied on the said amount will be waived along with fifty percent of the principal amount. After the expiry of the said period, all penalties and interest on the outstanding amount will be levied under the said Act.
Arora said that he had requested the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh to provide relief to the people. He thanked everyone for accepting the request.
He appealed to the people to take advantage of this OTS scheme.
